Design Brief : Lighting Design is at the forefront of form, function, and innovation in the use of modern materials to make interesting shapes. Research interesting lights that have used materials in an imaginative way i.e. stretching, heating, bending, cutting, shaping, etc, and produce a product that is innovative in material manipulation, form, and the manufacturing processes that are used to create it.

For this project, research was mainly done on materials to deduce which would be the most sustainable material to use for large-scale productions. Although a final product was not required, a prototype was made to convey the idea of the design. My idea was to produce a housing that acted as a projector as well as a lamp. The light would be able to illuminate through the acrylic but not the wood, therefore, projecting geometric shapes onto the walls and creating an ambient surrounding.
